Vermont State Parks: After Identifying the Perfect Travel Trailer for Sale

August is the time to start studying the available travel trailers for sale for those who tend to want to incorporate the RV into their regular travel, but avoid traveling during the summer months. Allowing for plenty of “browsing” time will ensure that there’s not a purchasing rush that could lead a new RV owner into a vehicle that won’t fulfill their basic needs. After identifying the perfect travel trailer for sale, new RVers should consider what destinations and locations suit their preferences in combination with the upcoming season. Then search for the perfect first trip.

Many new owners looking for a trip this fall will lean towards vistas that provide an array of fall foliage. It’s a classic and can be incorporated into a wide array of RV road trips peppered with other activities and hot spots. Vermont provides many opportunities to experience gorgeous fall foliage, but the best plan is to visit one of Vermont’s lovely State Parks.

3 Recommended State Parks in Vermont:

  1. Underhill State Park: The park includes: Mt. Mansfield State Forest and Brown’s River, is located on the slope of Mt. Mansfield and is located near Stowe ski area which is one of North America’s original ski resorts. The park is probably best known for its hiking.
  2. Jamaica State Park: The old West River Railroad bed is now used as the trail that leads along the West River to Ball Mountain Dam. Many enjoy the swimming hole known as Salmon Hole. Every fall on one weekend in September, the park draws whitewater paddlers with a water release on the West River from Ball Mountain Dam.
  3. Shaftsbury State Park: The area surrounds Lake Shaftsbury, offers cabins for rent and is nearby a host of venues and entertainments including: Bennington Monument and Museum, Robert Frost Stone House Museum, Southern Vermont Arts Center, Manchester Farmers Market, etc.

Make traveling even more exciting this fall by planning ahead for a list of optional activities that can act as support for the main destination. Most National and State Parks offer a number of outdoor recreational activities and many are near popular cultural venues and entertainment hot spots. Vermont offers a long list of possible destinations for RVers who wish to enjoy a fun-filled road trip while surrounding themselves with picturesque Fall landscapes.
