Class B – The Camper or Conversion Van

Class B recreational vehicles are also know to the public as camper vans or conversion vans.  Class B RVs are called this because of how they are built, which is on a van chassis.  However, they do have all or many of the motorhome amenities, such as bedroom space, kitchen, bathroom, just on a tinier scale.  Class B recreational vehicles are often the smallest of the self-contained motorhomes on the market, so they are not ideal for those who will be sleeping parties larger than eight.  They nice vans, but are more compact in size than their Class A or Class  C counterparts. 

The Class B motorhome will range in length up to 21 feet long.  This smaller size makes it easier to drive and maneuver.  This is one of its strongest asset points, as they move similar to that of an automobile. You can park them most anywhere, and backing into spots is easier.  By traveling with a Class B RV, the owner more than likely does not need to tow another car behind it.  Cars that are often towed are driven when the Class A or C RV is too hard to drive around.  This class of motorhome also is much more fuel efficient than any other recreational vehicle.

Another positive for the Class B motorhome is that it is considered very economical.  Not only is it easy on fuel, they are also lower priced at purchase.  The price range is typically from $30K to $75K.  Class B RVs require less hands on set up when on the road, before leaving town or at the final destination. 

Many models of this class of RV include slide-outs, which are panels that allow additional floor space or sleeping space when the Class B motorhome is stationary.  The extra space is always an added benefit.

Most high-quality motorhomes of this size will include a full kitchen, living area with sofa, entertainment center, nice storage space, and bathroom (with external hookups).  Those who opt to purchase a Class A or C are more often looking for top-notch luxury, rather than affordable practicality.  Class B units are perfect for the travelers of two or three people.

Driving an RV across country for a lifetime or vacation is what many people dream about.  This B sized recreational vehicle will fit the needs of an inexpensive, efficient traveler’s expectations.  They are not too excessive, but are a comfy and cozy motorhome.
