This Monday was Memorial Day, and millions of Americans across the country showed their support for the troops by holding BBQs and picnics or attending fireworks shows. One veteran of the Vietnam war hopes to prolong that sense of military pride year-round and has began customizing his class C motorhome to do it. George Jones, a retired military veteran from Gulfport, Mississippi, has parked his large RV on the side of Pass Road and asked passersby to sign the rig with messages of hope and support for the men and women of the armed forces. Jones, who has been at the spot since Sunday morning, hopes to have the entire vehicle covered in heartfelt messages from people across the country before driving the vehicle in to New York City to help further drum up support for the troops. "When you think about what our troops are doing for us, that pales in comparison. Very much pales in comparison to what they are doing for our freedoms, which we sometimes take for granted," Jones told WLOX.com. "[Passersby] can come down here and tell our troops anything they want to say. Let our troops know that you care and that you're behind them."
