A road trip is not always a low-cost undertaking. Gas prices are through the roof and with inflation affecting the prices of items we need in supermarkets, it's harder than ever to find an affordable way to take a vacation. However, few realize the cost-effectiveness of an RV vacation.
RVs easily get a bad rap by those worried about the rising costs of fuel. However, they fail to factor in the ways to save on other aspects of travel and lodging while on vacation. Families that choose to travel in an RV may spend a little extra on gas than those cruising down the road in a small automobile, however, an RV is also a shelter and can be used to house the entire family upon arrival. Those who choose to venture off in a small car need to find a hotel, which often is an expensive investment. And those who choose to fly must pay for expensive airline tickets in addition to lodging.
Furthermore, new RVs are designed to be fuel efficient. It's not only passenger vehicles that are continuing to develop. Today, many of the latest RV models are made with light materials and house more energy-efficient utilities.
