The recent flooding in the Mississippi River has driven many people from their homes and forced a number of RVers to find a new temporary living space on the road. Fortunately, several RV resorts and campgrounds throughout Louisiana are more than happy to accept these displaced individuals in their class B motorhomes, travel trailers and other recreational vehicles at a discounted price. New Orleans' own KLFY News is reporting that a number of campgrounds around the area have begun offering lower rates to individuals and families who are looking for temporary respite from the flood waters. These sites include parks in Covington, Convent, Mount Hermon, Folsom, Westlake and Robert. The L'Acadie Inn and RV Park in Eunice is one participant who has already been offering shelter to victims of flood from the Krotz Springs area, according to the new provider. Sharon Vennen, the executive director of the Louisiana Campground Owners Association, claims that the discounts are the least that RV parks can do to help those in need. "Campgrounds are one place where families can stay until the flood waters recede," she told KLFY.com.
