Hitting the road in a class C motor home is an excellent way to see the country while bonding with one's family. Fearing that his busy schedule would begin to affect his relationship with his wife and two children, NASCAR star and California native David Gilliland has opted to forego travelling between races by air, opting instead to pack the family into a new, custom class A motor home and take them with him.
According to the Toledo Blade, Gilliland and his wife Michelle have plotted out an intricate course between race tracks that will allow them and their two children, Todd and Taylor, to see the sights and feel the thrill of the open road this summer.
His wife, Michelle, said that despite some apprehension from friends and family, the plan has worked out exceptionally well thus far.
"All of my girlfriends were teasing me and saying this is something I should blog about because there would probably be some fireworks, but we've actually been having a lot of fun," she told the news provider. "It's a big change from our regular routine, where David is off racing and I'm with the kids, but it has worked out really well."
