Hundreds of RV enthusiasts recently invaded the tranquil Du Quoin State Fairgrounds in Perry County, Illinois, for one of the biggest rally's in the area. According to ABC affiliate WSIL, what was especially interesting about this event was that it was dedicated to only one brand - the Holiday Rambler.
Event organizers say about 400 people attended the week-long rally, and took the opportunity to try out some of the most exciting things southern Illinois has to offer. For instance, attendees checked out area wine trails as well as other local parks.
The club's president John Powell said that many members often look forward to the get-together as it's one of the few chances they get to discuss their passion for camping.
"We come together and at this rally, there's over 200 some units here supporting the rally, and this is the one time a year that we can all get together," Powell told the news source.
It's no surprise that such large numbers of RVers flock together. According to the Recreational Vehicle Association of America, 80 percent of RV owners say their vacations often cost less than other types of getaways.
