 While the classic image of RV ownership may be of unsophisticated travel trailers or oversized vans, modern motor homes are more luxurious and ornate than one might suspect. In an effort to provide drivers searching for stylish class A motor homes that provide more than just a smooth ride, Redwood RV recently purchased a new production plant in Syracuse, Indiana, with the goal of manufacturing a new line of luxury RVs.
Redwood, a new start up subsidiary of Thor Industries, has purchased the abandoned Ameri-Camp RV manufacturing site in Syracuse to produce a new line of luxurious fifth wheel travel trailers that the company hopes to reveal at the 48th National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Kentucky, this November.
According to Redwood President Don Emahiser, the facility will undergo a number of renovations to prepare for mass production of the new lineup, taking on between 60 and 80 new employees from the local communities in the process. Work at the factory is expected to be finished in the next few months, with production likely slated for early 2011.
