When shopping for a new or used motorhome, drivers will use any number of criteria to help them choose the right vehicle for their needs. While there are many reasons that could inspire a shopper's choices, the issue that seems to be on the lips of many RV enthusiasts is fuel economy and eco-conscious drivers will be happy to hear that a group of industry analysts are predicting that lightweight vehicles may be the way of the future. Darcy Turgeon, the chairman of the Edmonton RV Exposition and Sale which will kick off later this month, believes that lighter vehicles will be a big hit at this year's proceedings. For many drivers, the draw of these lighter travel trailers is that they can typically be towed by the owner's current vehicle, allowing drivers to focus more on internal amenities than a larger tow vehicle. Elsewhere, the executive vice president of the RV Dealers Association of Alberta, Dan Merkowsky, is telling the Edmonton Journal that innovations like lighter trailers are helping the industry emerge from the recent economic recession. "Edmonton and area consumers will be guaranteed a great selection of new RVs, with more than 400 RV units on display, including tent trailers, travel trailers, fifth wheels, park models and motorhomes," Merkowsky said.
