From full service kitchens, to elegant showers, modern Class A motorhomes have all of the amenities of home. As such, many drivers taking to the open road bring along their four-legged friends for the ride. But before drivers and their dogs hit the road in search of fun and adventure, they may want to do a little research. The first thing to consider is whether or not to crate one's canine companion while driving. While some drivers might be apprehensive to keep their dogs confined to a miniscule cage for hours on end, others have found wandering dogs to be bothersome and distracting while on the road. Failing the cage, it may be a good idea for RVers with a separate bedroom to keep the dog there while the vehicle is in motion. Secondly, drivers will want to know their campground, resort or parking lots' pet policy. According to the Acorn, most RV parks have pet restrictions that vary in both severity (leniency?) and penalties for those that break the rules. With some preliminary research, drivers can avoid often steep fees for pets. Also have the animal checked out by a vet before embarking on a longer trip, as the dog may become car sick or ill during the course of travel, and it is best to be prepared.
