Whether it's a used travel trailer or a new class A motorhome, RVs tend to be a more masculine vehicle. The large engines and rugged nature of these vehicles may leave female drivers and passengers feeling a little out of place, but one Indiana-based manufacturer is hoping to change all of that by creating a new line of vehicles geared specifically toward the fairer sex. Open Range RV from Shipshewana, Indiana, has begun basing their new fifth-wheels and travel trailers on the female market by creating a more "home away from home" feel for their newest lines of vehicles. The RVs will include little touches like fireplaces, portable kitchen islands and Corian countertops, as well as designer cushion, cabinets and drapery options. All of this is designed to create a more comfortable setting for passengers and increase the appeal of the vehicles to families who may be on the fence about owning a recreational vehicle. "That's a trend we set. It's our marquee, and we've seen a lot of our competitors copying us," Open Range owner Randy Graber tells WNDU.com. "We know we needed to do something out there and look unique. We are always looking for that innovative new idea."
