Though there are any number of economic indicators to be found across the globe, many analysts believe that the RV industry is the litmus test for the American economy at large. As sales of class B motorhomes, travel trailers and fifth-wheelers continues to grow at expos and showrooms across the U.S. and Canada, it looks like the industry is alive and well. Another sign that RV travel is picking up is coming out of Bat County, Florida, where the Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort is so beset with reservations and visitors that it must expand to accommodate driver interest. Based out of Panama City, Emerald Coast has seen its business boom since mid-December, forcing the park to regularly operate at 90 percent capacity, according to the local ABC News affiliate. With big events like Spring Break and Bike Week looming on the horizon, the resort has decided to green light a new construction project that would will create 10 new motorhome sites and a brand new retention pond to the tune of $1 million, claims WMBB.com. "They will be built in such a manner that when you’re sitting in your living room, you look out into the pond," park manager Jerry Bock told the news provider.
