Remodeling an RV is the most economical way to get a unique customized motorhome. Used RVs come at a fraction of the cost of a brand new rig, and with an eye for change and a willingness to get your hands dirty, a renovation can easily increase the machine's value.
It's natural to think that starting a do it yourself (DIY) construction project on your motorhome is risky, but there are simple updates that anyone can attempt that would significantly improve a rig's design and create more space to move around in it.
Many DIY motorhome projects start with the removal of the dinette table. This piece of furniture is customary in many RV designs, but owners who want more space often replace the anchored piece with a smaller table that can be moved around at will.
Another way to remodel and improve the overall look of a used rig is to remove any carpet and replace it with laminated wood or vinyl flooring for a touch of class. Removing carpet in an RV cleans the space up, especially if used mostly for vacations. Carpets can easily retain dirt, and if people are constantly going in and out of the structure, the rugs will have something to show for it.
