Drivers taking their class C motorhomes through the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador will find plenty of options when it comes time to bed down for the evening. If one development firm in the community of New Harbour has its way, there could be one more as Anthony Developments has proposed the creation of a new RV park and resort near Island Pond. According to CBNCompass.ca, the proposed park would span 18 hectares and feature more than 150 camping sites along Route 73. Anthony already owns part of the land, but has launched an environmental assessment to see if building a new RV park on the site will be viable. With a proposed title of Island Pond RV Park, organizers claim that the growing popularity of RVing in the region has crowded many existing parks, and recently enacted ordinances that ban campers from camping on crown land without a permit have placed many families in a precarious position. The site already boasts its own septic system, paved driveways and an artesian well, meaning the park could go up quickly is approved. Anthony also plans to add water and electrical hookups, an information kiosk and a swimming pool.
