Manufacturers And Dealers Alike Are Keeping Up With Baby Boomers’ RV Demands.

In June of 1977, a record breaking amount of recreational vehicles were purchased by and shipped to numerous American RV enthusiasts around the Country. Since this date, the sale and shipment of RV’s in the U.S. has decreased and increased due to a number of factors, a phenomenon that we are all accustom to. But once in a while, a break through is achieved and a record is broken, and in June 2004 one such feat was achieved and one such record broken.

More than a quarter-century ago, the current RV sales and shipment record was established, and in June 2004, a new record was set. The 25 year old record was shattered as it was beaten by a whopping 20%. The increase helped add to the seven point two million recreational vehicles that are currently being driven and enjoyed all across the United States today.

The census is that many of the baby boomers are settling into their retirement years, many with RV on the brain! The significant number of baby boomer retirees has greatly contributed to the large up rise in RV purchases. In fact, many dealers are experiencing increases in sales which they attribute to the growing number of baby boomer retirees. One such dealer is Pedata RV of Tucson Arizona. Pedata is a Nationwide recreational vehicle dealer that is now doing 85% of their business on the internet. Clint Ethington, Manager of Pedata RV Tucson says: that they had record internet sales in 2004 and that they expect their internet sales to steadily increase in the months to come.
