Pedata RV Center Releases Safety Tips for RVers Traveling Alone

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

Pedata RV Center releases safety tips for RVers traveling alone. While many view RVing as a means of group travel popular for family vacations and even multi-family vacations, it is also often used as a means of solitary vacationing.

Many individuals who are traveling alone prize their time alone so recommendations to increase safety by traveling with a party are ignored or brushed aside. But there are additional steps and precautions that can be taken to increase the safety of the solitary traveler:

1.    A good cell phone with dependable cell phone service
2.    Contact with another individual so there is a record or at least knowledge of the general whereabouts of the traveler.
3.    Regular RV maintenance to decrease the likelihood that there will be car trouble.

Gerard Pedata of Pedata RV Center said, “ Individuals who are traveling alone can find themselves in a bit of a predicament if no one knows where they are. Sending a quick email or text message before heading off to a new location or on a hike, etc. can be extremely helpful if the traveler fails to make it back to their campsite as planned.”

While traveling alone is often not recommended by experts for safety reasons, there are many individuals who travel alone frequently without any safety issues. There are individuals who enjoy a full time RV lifestyle alone on the road. There are individuals who have traveled extensively without any safety issues cropping up due to the fact that they are traveling singly. But statistically speaking, traveling in numbers is safer and following some basic guidelines like those presented above can greatly decrease the chances that there will be a problem related to your safety while traveling.

Pedata RV Center sells used RVs, travel trailers, fifth wheels, campers, and motor homes. Their full inventory is accessible online and due to their low overhead costs they are able to offer competitive pricing in their industry. Pedata RV Center Publishes RV Tire Safety Article for Free Online Access

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

Pedata RV Center publishes RV tire safety article for free online access. There are many issues related to tire safety that are easily overlooked. One of the most commonly overlooked issues related to RV tire safety is that travel trailer tires have to checked and re-checked just as often as full size RV tires.

Having low tire pressure can decrease your gas mileage, and it can also leave the driver and passengers in danger on the road. Careful and diligent maintenance regarding tire safety will drastically decrease the probability that there may be a blow out on the road.

Gerard Pedata of Pedata RV Center said, “RVers often cite blow outs as the one thing that could ruin their trip. But this doesn’t always lead them to be dedicated in checking their tires prior to departure. Even though it is a common worry…the lack of proper tire maintenance continues to be a common problem leading to road trouble.”

Pedata RV Center offers free online access to any and all blog posts and articles in the website’s online article database. Interested consumers are encouraged to access information and leave comments and questions or even concerns about specific upcoming RV trips. Experienced professionals contribute regularly and monitor the blog comments.

Pedata RV Center Releases Tips for “Light” RV Travel

Thursday, December 1st, 2011

Pedata RV Center releases tips for “light” RV travel. Some RV owners appreciate the ability to outfit their RVs with every item and amenity available. Other RV owners appreciate the RV’s ability to offer them spontaneous or quick travel. These RV owners are often looking for tips on traveling “light.”

Tips for Traveling “Light” in Your RV from Pedata RV Center:

1.     Keep Staples Packed: RV owners who appreciate a quick departure for spontaneous trips learn to stop unpacking. Many items are best left stocked in the recreational vehicle, as they will only need to be repacked for the next trip. Ascertain which items are non-perishable and will be necessary for most road trips and keep them in the vehicle at all times. This decreases preparation time drastically and makes spontaneous travel much more enjoyable.

2.     Travel Size: The travel size was created for a purpose. It was created for the traveler. Many RV owners greatly appreciate the decreased need for storage space when travel size options can be utilized. Travel size board games are a particular favorite of RVers.

3.     Avoid Unnecessary Packing: RVers should consider their proposed destination and activities when packing. It’s one thing to be prepared with the items you might need during a trip, and it’s quite another to over pack to the point that preparing for the spontaneous trip takes longer than the trip itself.

Gerard Pedata of Pedata RV Center said, “Spontaneity is a great attribute found amongst many RV owners. Recreational vehicles cater to those who long for travel and wish to make it a part of their normal lives rather than a rare deviation from the everyday.”

Motorhomes Are an All Around Healthy Mode of Travel

Sunday, October 23rd, 2011

Motorhomes can be a healthy choice. They can be healthy for your budget, your family and even your individual physical health. The many choices open to buyers in today’s recreational vehicle industry means that getting specific doesn’t have to severely limit the options available. There are RVs of every type with nearly endless amenity possibilities falling into an extremely wide range of pricing. This new versatility is one of the reasons that more and more American families are deciding to take advantage of the benefits of motorhome.

RVs keep you budget healthy by decreasing the amount of money necessary for a family vacation. Using motorhomes instead of flight, rental vehicle, and hotel combinations can greatly decrease the overall bill for a trip. Buying and making use of motorhomes seems like an all around good choice. Are you still pondering the benefits and deciding if the RV is a good fit for your family? Consider the possibilities that are offered by motorhomes, the open road and a vacation budget that can suddenly be stretched much farther. Many RVers state that they can double the time they spend on vacation when they avoid the costs of hotels and rental vehicles and flights. Others state that they find that they enjoy their vacations more and feel that they do more as they aren’t always re-visiting the same spots and paying to experience the same sites over and over again.

Families in today’s never ending busy round of appointments and packed schedules sometimes start to disintegrate due to lack of family time. Pack the entire family into a luxurious recreational vehicle and you won’t be able to count the hours of quality time you fit in over the course of a road trip or family vacation. Family oriented public discussions often mention the beneficial nature of “eating together as a family” or “sitting down together at the kitchen table.” In many American homes this is much easier said than done, but when the entire family is gathered together in the RV it’s much easier. Depending upon where the RV is located at mealtime (on the road, at a campground, in a parking lot, etc.) there might not be many options. This makes it much easier to eat together as a family as well as enjoy a wide variety of family friendly activities like board games, movies, crafts, etc.

Some even view the RV lifestyle as a means of improving their basic, physical health. RVs present a unique opportunity to increase an individual’s or a family’s participation in outdoor recreational activities. It also offers the chance to abruptly change eating patterns without the typical fallbacks of neighbor’s houses, regular social events, the favorite fast food joint around the corner, etc. Many RVers do eat fast food while on the road, but it’s a choice. It’s just as easy to refrain from eating fast food or other high fat/high calorie options.

Motorhomes are a great choice for vacationing. They are also becoming a more popular choice for full time living. For those individuals who are stuck somewhere in between using their RV strictly for vacation purposes and living in it full time, there’s frequent escape from “regular” life. What you’re escaping from is up to you.

Pedata RV Center Announces More Cash Purchases of Used RVs

Sunday, April 17th, 2011

Pedata RV Center announces more cash purchases of used RVs. Some industry experts suggest that the “tight fist” reaction to the economic downturn has led to an increase in big ticket expenditures from those who have put it off until the health of the economy improved.

But it’s not only big ticket buying that is evident in today’s market. It’s cash purchases. Cash isn’t just for fast food and roadside stands anymore. People in today’s market are swinging more towards cash savings for big ticket purchases over the “credit” option that was so popular in years past.

Gerard Pedata of Pedata RV Center said, “I don’t think anyone is completely turning away from credit. The way our economy and our society is set up really couldn’t allow that but since the major upset that was caused by the recent recession many view their credit opportunities as more of a unavoidable evil than an opportunity to hang onto their cash.”

More big ticket items like used RVs, cars, second homes, pools and other major home additions, etc. are being paid for after cash has been saved up. In years past this was rare. Most consumers paid for big ticket items on credit with the expectation that they would be making payments for a specified amount of time.

Pedata RV Center sells used RVs, travel trailers, fifth wheels, campers, and motor homes. Their full inventory is accessible online and due to their low overhead costs they are able to offer competitive pricing in their industry. Easy access to industry and recreational vehicle information allows consumers to have access to the specific knowledge they need to ensure their purchase results in long term satisfaction.

Pedata RV Center Releases Top 3 List of RVer Movies for Road Trips

Monday, April 11th, 2011

Pedata RV Center releases top 3 list of RVer movies for road trips. The “road trip” is a classic American experience and many find it a vacation in and of itself. Some RVers don’t worry about the destination at all; they are more worried about the trip.

Top 3 List of RVer Movies for Road Trips:

1. RV, starring Robin Williams. Memorable Quote regarding one of the reasons the father of the family thought a road trip was a good idea, “We watch TV in four separate rooms and IM each other when dinner is ready.”

2. Thelma and Louise, starring Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis. Memorable Quote from Louise Sawyer, “You’ve always been crazy, this is just the first chance you’ve had to express yourself.”

3. Planes, Trains and Automobiles, starring John Candy and Steve Martin. Memorable Quote, “Why don’t you take a picture? It’ll last longer.”

Gerard Pedata of Pedata RV Center suggested, “RVers who love movies in combination with their road trips should consider researching the possibility of attending a classic Drive-in Movie Theater while traveling. Access online databases and directors to find out if there is a functioning drive in theater in the region you’ll be visiting.”

Pedata RV Center sells used RVs, travel trailers, fifth wheels, campers, and motor homes. Pedata RV Center Releases Top 3 Reasons to Listen to “Lifer” RV Drivers

Sunday, March 20th, 2011

Pedata RV Center releases Top 3 reasons to listen to “lifer” RV drivers. RV drivers are of two kinds: part time drivers and what many refer to as “lifers.” Lifer RVers are on the road full time. They may move from campground to campground or they may stay in one spot. But they live in their RV fulltime.

When it comes to making the most of your RV trip there’s no one with more useful information for new or part time RV drivers than the “Lifer RVer.”

Top 3 Reasons to Listen to the “Lifer” RV Drivers:

1. They can provide you with the ‘local’ view of the area. This usually means that you’ll get more local flavor. You’ll be able to hit the real local hot spots instead of the major tourist stops.

2. They can help you avoid unnecessary costs. Avoid the expensive toll roads by using local byways instead. Avoid the expensive supply stores by allowing the experienced RV drivers in the area to direct you towards more affordable supply outlets, RV repair centers, etc.

3. They can direct you towards local festivals, events and celebrations in the surrounding area.

Gerard Pedata of Pedata RV Center said, “We always encourage new and part time RV drivers to access the knowledge that is out there from those who have been on the road a substantially longer amount of time. It’s always great to run into like minded individuals at a campground or RV event, but the easiest way to take advantage of the extensive knowledge of full time RVers is online.”

Pedata RV Center sells used RVs, travel trailers, fifth wheels, campers, and motor homes. Their full inventory is accessible online and due to their low overhead costs they are able to offer competitive pricing in their industry. Pedata RV Center Releases Top 6 ‘Must Have Items’ for Motorhomes

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

Pedata RV Center releases Top 6 ‘Must Have Items’ for motorhomes.

Top 6 ‘Must Have Items’ for Motorhomes:

1. First Aid Kit (it doesn’t have to be too extensive, but make sure the kit has the basics such as bandages, aspirin, anti-bacterial cleanse and more).

2. Blanket (no matter how short the trip…emergencies come up. Be warm while waiting out emergencies that delay departures or arrivals).

3. Map and Road Atlas (Remote destinations may cause “out of range” of service for digital devices. It’s quite rare that a traveler is a victim of map or atlas theft. Maps are a terrific backup for when expensive electronic devices disappear due to theft).

4. Garbage bags (Garbage bags are a vital element of every road trip no matter how short or long).

5. Bottled water (a case is recommended, but have at least one at all times).

6. Spare tire (this needs no further discussion. There’s no argument against it).

Gerard Pedata of Pedata RV Center said, “A lot of RVers who have been on the road off and on for years find that they get complacent if they don’t make a concentrated effort to keep their motorhomes stocked with the essentials and they eventually regret it. New motorhome owners are almost more likely to be prepared with the basics! They’re more prone to checking and re-checking and working off of a list.”
