The survey of manufacturers conducted in October of 2011 indicated that 19,100 units were shipped. This is a 15.1% jump in comparison to October 2010 totals.

RVIA surveys are conducted regularly and are seen as a standard for the industry. The total sales for 2011 saw a notable increase over total sales for 2010 industry wide.

-    70% of current RV owners plan to purchase another RV to replace the old one.
-    14% of households that have never owned a recreational vehicle in the past plan to purchase one in the future.

Most tend to define a summer vacation as a length of time (anywhere from 3 day to a month) spent somewhere else doing something else. Sometimes this means a flight to Europe or a tropical island. But in many cases, flights are no longer the mode of travel.
